‘Tis the season for new holiday music, and I am on board! Hailing from San Francisco, California, get ready to bring in the holiday spirit with CommonUnion59!

If you like the folk-laced sounds of artists such as Simon and Garfunkel and Civil Wars, this is right up your alley. CommonUnion59 consists of singer-songwriters Steve McKenzie and Laura Malasig who create gorgeous tones within every note of their music. The group writes and music that is both personal and intimate, allowing them to connect with a wide range of music listeners.

The Holiday EP is the follow up to their record, Heartbeat Serenade, which has garnered critical acclaim from fans and critics alike. The Holiday EP features two blissful Christmas songs. The first being “You and Me,” which offers up a classic folk sound which is perfect for a snowy winter’s day. The back and forth vocals of Steve and Laura are perfection as they work in perfect harmony. Following the track is “The Spirit of Christmas,” a more upbeat song on the EP. Laura’s voice is pure heaven within the track as it is laced with bright acoustic guitars. Gorgeous harmonies enter the song bringing to life the holiday spirit. You can’t help but smile and be merry when you hear the angelic voices on the record.

Delta Deep Ushers in the Holiday Spirit

Delta Deep comes to us today with a blues infused brand for rock n’ roll (and a dash of soul!) just in time for the Christmas season. Headed by Phil Collen of Def Leppard, he has brought together the phenomenal talents of Rob DeLeo (bassist/Stone Temple Pilots), Forrest Robinson (drummer/TLC, India.Arie, Engelbert Humperdinck) and Debbi Blackwell-Cook (former background singer for Michael Buble & Gregory Hines).  Together the accolades of the band members are legendary. Combined the members of Delta Deep have sold over 100 million albums, won Grammys, Diamond awards and American Music Awards and everything in between. Can we say supergroup?

Earlier this year, the group had released their full length, self-titled debut, and now are sharing their infectious holiday single, “Take Me Home for Christmas.” The song can bring out the holiday spirit even in the Grinch. With intertwined Blues hooks, Collen and co. bring the piece to life.

The sultry piece features Blackwell-Cook’s seductive and intricate voice, brought to life by driving instruments and subtle yet prominent backing vocals from the rest of the group. As bluesy guitar notes surround her voice, the band offer a unique take on holiday music, and spreads the cheer.

Amanda Lamb Brings a Little Bit Country
