Smith Westerns Line Up U.S. Dates with Yuck

Smith Westerns are a heavy influenced band.  The young Chicago foursome has ultimately pooled together all the characteristics of great pop music and, in turn, has crafted nothing but great pop music.  Fresh off the release of their sophomore album, Dye It Blonde, on Fat Possum, Smith Westerns have some touring to do.  UK labelmates Yuck are set to join them, making it their first visit to the States.  Save a date below:

The Wellspring To Tour With Ben Kweller And Pete Yorn

The Los Angeles-based duo, The Wellspring, made up of Dov Rosenblatt and Talia Osteen, will be joining Ben Kweller and Pete Yorn on tour. They will be kicking off two months on the road in Phoenix, AZ on Valentine’s Day and end in April in Austin, TX. In addition to that, they will also be re-releasing the self-titled EP in a new edition with two additional tracks, “Tug Of War” and “Let Me Go.”

Toro Y Moi Premiere “Still Sound” Video And Extend Tour

On February 22nd, Toro Y Moi will be releasing Underneath The Pine on Carpark records and you can now view the video for one of its star tracks, “Still Sound,” which just premiered on Pitchfork. Directed by Steven Daniels, the video is a cute and playful still 8 insight on frontman Chaz Bundick and bandmates goofing around, rehearsing and even dancing. The retro image grain matches the old school r’n’b funk mood of the song and at the same time maintains the hipster image associated with chillwave. You can watch the video HERE.

Make Out Offer “How To” EP

“Right from the beginning we’ve had the exact same idea of what a new, exciting band should be,” says Jesper Mortensen of his new band Make Out. After the dissolution of Mortensen’s last group, Junior Senior, he teamed with vocalist Leah Hennessey and began working on what would become the band’s forthcoming debut EP.

Due out on February 22nd, How To is comprised of 3 tracks, including the band’s first single “I Don’t Want Anybody That Wants Me.” Head over to Spin to download that track and read more about the group.

Black Milk Announces North American Tour Dates

Detroit producer and MC Black Milk is known for his complex, sample-heavy instrumentals and his lyrical, pull-no-punches flow. After releasing 2010’s aptly dubbed Album of the Year, he now embarks on a North American tour. Accompanied by vocalist and keyboardist AB as well as drummer Daru Jones, we’re sure this live backing band will only enhance Black Milk’s stage presence.
